You Talked, We Listened: April 2007 Regional Meetings

In April MOREnet held four regional meetings with our member groups to present information and gather feedback on current issues and other topics.

The meetings were held at the following locations:

1. St Louis – April 19, 2007 – St. Louis County Library – 16 attended
2. Kansas City - April 20, 2007 – Mid Continent Public Library – 17 attended
3. Kirksville – April 23, 2007 – Kirksville TCRC – 29 attended
4. Poplar Bluff – April 24, 2007 – Poplar Bluff Public Library – 34 attended

The agendas included presentations on MOREnet programs, open discussion on issues of concern to the members, lunch, and a presentation by Schiller’s Audio Visual on new products in development. The response to the presentations was very positive. The interactions among the participants provided them the opportunity to network and meet others in their respective member groups and geographic areas.

Action Items

• Enhanced Communications: Members asked for a short and concise list of services with basic description and URLs to visit for more information, better targeted e-mails, and a newsletter produced electronically rather than in print. Efforts are underway to address these requests.
• E-discovery: Member requests for more information on this topic prompted this recent announcement.
• IT Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity: MOREnet is working to incorporate this topic into presentations and/or networking sessions at September Regional Meetings.
• Continue Hosting Regional Meetings: The next group of meetings scheduled for late September, 2007. Look for more information soon!

MOREnet was very pleased to see the regional meetings so well attended. As we continue to solicit opinions to better serve our member organizations, we will be planning more regional meetings and other opportunities for interaction, and we encourage everyone to participate and be heard.
